What happens when 250 CIOs from companies with 500-5,000 employees gather at the Midsize Enterprise Summit (held this year in New Orleans)? No, it’s not Mardi Gras. They get the latest updates from ShoreTel, Oracle, Google, Cisco, HP and about 40 other top technology companies.
But what happens in New Orleans, doesn’t stay in New Orleans! After hearing detailed presentations and demonstrations, the CIOs vote for best solutions and take those ideas back to their offices to plan their investments.
I’m really pleased to report that ShoreTel was nominated in 6 out of 8 categories, more than any other company, and won for both best “Return on Investment” and “Best Execution for a Midmarket Solution.” Other winners included HP, our most valued networking and mobility solution partner. Cisco or Avaya did not win a single award.
It was a great opportunity to meet-up with existing customers, and have them learn about our latest solutions with mobility – for both enterprise premise and cloud implementations.
And at least one customer in every boardroom presentation validated our position that complexity is the main reason why IT departments are wasting resources on legacy and complicated IP based systems. I shared the findings from several authors such as Stephen Wilson of MIT on how it is this complexity that is making American businesses less competitive. We’re doing our part, and our customers said it themselves.
ShoreTel makes a difference.
It’s pretty cool to ask a customer you’ve never met, in front of their entire audience of their peers, what their experience has been. Every time they reaffirmed that it was true. Many said they only wished they had moved off of solutions that require software renewals every three years. That’s a problem our customers never face.
And so we close out another great event in New Orleans with ShoreTel customers and look forward to having many more join us. You’ve got to enjoy a city that when you order a Beignet, they give you three more to take home. Love this town!
Great teamwork. It’s not really work when it is this fun. Just like writing this on a plane on my way to take part at ShoreTel’s largest celebration of our cloud division success with 1,000 attendees in New York at the Battle of the Bands. Rock and Roll all Night – Party Every Day!
Congratulations ShoreTel Team! You Rock!
